BAJAUR: Doctors and paramedics of the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, continued their boycott of duties for the third day on Monday against the alleged roughing up of the medical superintendent by a group of protesters on Saturday.

The striking staffers told mediapersons on the occasion that MS Dr Liaqat Khan was ‘beaten up’ by people when he tried to stop them from making video of two bodies in the hospital’s morgue.

The people were protesting delay in postmortem on the bodies of the victims, who were killed in a gun attack in Salarzai tehsil on Saturday.

They said Dir Liaqat told the people that making video clips inside the hospital morgue was not allowed, but the people didn’t listen.

The protesting medics asked the district administration and police to take action against those behind the inhuman act. The protesters vowed to continue boycotting duties till an FIR was registered against those responsible.

All the departments of the hospital except the emergency section remained closed for the third consecutive day.

Meanwhile, elders of Salarzai tehsil on Monday showed anger over delay in conducting postmortem on the bodies.

During a meeting held in Bar Raghagan area, the elders called for removal of Dr Liqat Khan from the post of hospital MS.
