40 Pakistanis get highest marks in world in Cambridge exams

KARACHI: The Cambridge Assessment International Education on Friday announced the winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in Pakistan, celebrating the academic achievements of students in the June 2022 examination.

In total, 277 students in Pakistan received 304 awards for exceptional performance in the examinations, including 40 students who attained the highest marks in the world, and 43 students who attained the highest marks in Pakistan in a single subject.

CAIE Country Director Uzma Yousuf said: “I am delighted to congratulate learners from Pakistan on their academic achievements. The awards reflect the talent and hard work of learners and acknowledge the dedication and commitment of both teachers and parents.”

Thats why 'Obama' termed pakistan, a nation with the brightest people in the world, in a speech to indian students, in india.

@Light at the end of the tunnel, b/c these toppers work outside Pak, mostly. Also the total number of these toppers is negligible compared to that in other countries.

Congratulations to the students. However, how can more than 1 person get the highest marks? Only 1 person can get highest marks.

CAIE is a disgrace, they only prepare students to go overseas, it's causing brain drain. Pakistan is not getting any advantage, rather losing money which is also going in the pockets of UK, unfortunately. Nothing to cheer about.

I am proud of Pakistani students who have scored highest marks in Cambridge Exams. The govt should push all these students by awarding scholarships and send them for higher studies in developed countries. On other hand one should also look after the unprivileged students who are intelligent and working hard to complete their studies, but due to financial constrains they can't afford to pay Cambridge exams fees Let us find out those intelligent students and help them in achieving their goals.

@Light at the end of the tunnel, because almost almost all of them will leave the country in the next few years to study abroad and just stay there. To be honest, most of these folks get private education for which their parents pay hefty amounts so they don’t really owe anything to the state

@Light at the end of the tunnel, Because they don't do anything for country. They will go abroad, get degrees from there and will get lucrative offers from companies and then will spend rest of their lives serving others.

@Light at the end of the tunnel, Those whose family can afford it are sent abroad for University and don't come back due to the lack of basic amenities and low pay. Those who can't afford it try to get into university locally and struggle to get a decent job after graduation. Why? Merit is not the criteria. Sifarish and bribery is the only way.
