ISLAMABAD, Dec 30: Muhammad Ayub of Army set a new national pole vault record on Friday in the Ranking athletics meet which concluded at the Jinnah Stadium.

It was a one-two-three finish for Army in the event with Ayub soaring 4.90m to create the record leaving behind team-mates Muhammad Jaffar (4.70m) and Adnan Anjum (4.30m).

Muhammad Shahbaz, another armyman, won the 100m dash clocking 10.78 followed by Nazim Shah (10.86) and Qudratullah, who was home in 10.87 sec.
