ISLAMABAD: Robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables from 24 places in the capital, police said on Saturday.

M. Habib complained to the police that he made friendship with a girl on Facebook who expressed her desire to marry him.

She asked him to meet her at a ground in Dhoke Jillani.

When Mr Habib reached there, he found two persons waiting for him. They beat him up at gunpoint and snatched Rs50,000 and a mobile phone from him and escaped.

In another incident, three persons armed with weapons raided the dental clinic of Ahsan Ali at I-8 Markaz and held up the staff and clients at gunpoint. The robbers looted eight mobile phones, a laptop, Rs15,100, three gold rings and a pair of earrings and a locket.

Moreover, four armed persons intercepted M. Zaydan at Merabadi when he was returning home on a motorcycle and took away his motorcycle, a mobile phone and Rs4,000. Two gunmen held up Saghir Ahmed at I-9/1 when he was returning from a bank after withdrawing cash and snatched Rs180,000 and fled.

Likewise, two robbers riding a bike intercepted M. Ismail at Lethrar Road and snatched Rs10,000 and a mobile phone and escaped. Police said the robbery victim chased, intercepted and pulled them down, however, the robbers escaped on foot, leaving behind the bike.

Similarly, two robbers intercepted Hamza Tanveer on G.T Road and looted Rs50,000 and a mobile phone, the police said, adding three robbers snatched Rs8,000 and a mobile phone from Ovais Abbasi at I-10/4.

Furthermore, burglars broke into the house of Naeem Abbasi at H-13 and made off with 30,000 Saudi riyals, Rs1.3 million and seven tola gold ornaments. Burglars also took away six tola gold ornaments and a laptop from the house of M. Asif at I-8/2.

Burglars also broke into the house of Rao M. Aurngzaib at Margalla Valley and made off with cash Rs45,000 and one tola gold ornaments.

A maid allegedly stole 18 tola gold ornaments from the house of Maryam Mumtaz at E-9, said the police.

Meanwhile, two cars were stolen from Itafaq Town and the H-9 weekly bazaar while six motorcycles were lifted from from Blue Area, G-9 Markaz, Pakistan Town, F-10 Markaz, Shakarparian and Madni Town.
