MUZAFFARGARH: Two suspected killers of three boys were shot dead by their own accomplice here on Wednesday night, police claimed on Thursday.

On Oct 24, some suspects snatched a motorcycle from a man near old vegetable market and allegedly shot dead three boys Mohammed Tayyib (18), Shahzaib (15) and Ahsan (15) of Kot Addu on offering resistance.

On Wednesday evening, a Dera Ghazi Khan police team arrested the suspects and handed them over to Kot Addu police.

Police claimed that a team was carrying them to Ihsanpur when five unidentified armed men attacked the official van at Sandila Chowk.

During a crossfire, two [suspected] killers of the boys were killed in firing by their own accomplices.

According to police spokesperson Waseem Khan Gopang, the police van was attacked by unknown accomplices of the robbers to get their gang members released when they were being taken to Ihsanpur for recovery.

The bodies have been shifted to THQ hospital for postmortem examination.

Talking to Dawn, District Police Officer Syed Ahmad Nawaz Shah said a search operation was under way in Muzaffargarh and Kot Addu and more than 93 proclaimed offenders were arrested and illegal weapon seized during the last four days.
