TAXILA: Local leader of PTI Akbar Khan Tanoli has sought registration of an FIR against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for allegedly being involved in gun attack on Imran Khan.

In an application to Hassanabdal police, Mr Tanoli said Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in his recent press conferences had hurled threats on the PTI chairman.

On Thursday, when the long march was passing through Wazirabad, the men hired by him (Rana Sanaullah) resorted to firing at the container. As a result, Imran Khan received bullet injuries in his leg. He nominated the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in the case and sought action against him as per law. When contacted, the spokesman of the district Police confirmed that they have received an application from Mr Tanoli against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.

“The application has been forwarded to the legal branch of the district police department for their opinion and further course of action,” he added.

Angry PTI supporters took to streets for second in Taxila, Wah, Hazro, Fatehjang and Pindigheb on Friday in protest hours after the assassination attempt on the party Chairman Imran Khan on day 7 of the long march in Wazirabad on Thursday.

In Taxila a protest demonstration was taken out on G.T. Road and gathered at Taxila main chowk where member National Assembly Mansoor Hayat Khan and member Punjab Assembly Ammar Sadeeq Khan delivered speeches.

On this occasion, PTI

supporters chanted slogans against perpetrators of the incident. Similar protest was taken out in Wah Cantt in which PTI workers marched from the PTI secretariat to G.T. Road where the local party leaders delivered speeches.

A protest demonstration against the PTI founder chairman was organised in Hazro town of Attock where local PTI leaders after Friday prayers staged a demonstration to register their protest against the attempt to assassinate party chief Imran Khan.
