HARIPUR: An army soldier, martyred during an encounter with terrorists, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyards in Pakshahi village in Khanpur on Monday night.

According to a statement issued by ISPR on Monday, that soldiers Mohammad Qaisar and Shafiullah were part of an intelligence-based operation in Kaman Pass area of Shahrig, Balochistan. They embraced martyrdom during exchange of fire with terrorists. Four terrorists were also killed during the operation.

Sepoy Mohammad Qaisar’s body was sent to his native village Pakshahi in Khanpur. His funeral was held on Monday night. He was laid to rest with full military honour. The residents of the area, local government representatives and ex-servicemen attended the funeral.

According to family sources, Qaisar’s elder brother Mohammad Yasir also embraced martyrdom during a similar operation a couple of years ago.
