LAHORE: The Punjab government has declared the University of Health Sciences (UHS) as the “admitting university” to conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in the province.

The Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department issued a notification in this regard on Friday after the approval of the chief minister.

According to the notification, the UHS will conduct test for the academic session 2022-23 for admission to public and private medical and dental colleges in the province.

As per the policy decision of the Pakistan Medical Commission, the MDCAT, which every aspirant has to qualify for in order to be eligible to apply for admission to medical or dental college, will be organized by the provincial governments through designated public medical universities this year.

The paper-based test will be conducted across Pakistan on Nov 13. In Punjab, the UHS will conduct MDCAT in eight cities - Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
