KARACHI, Dec 26: Senator Nisar A. Memon has underlined the need for conducting scientific research in all important fields, and urged the universities and research institutes to ensure involvement of various sectors in this process.

He was speaking as chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 9th International Multi-topic Conference-2005, organized here on Sunday by the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences.

He dispelled the impression that a little research was being done in the country, and pointed out that reputed institutions had fully been involved in research in social sciences.—APP
