KARACHI: Election for naib nazim

KARACHI, Dec 24: The arrangements for election of city naib-nazim on Dec 28 were reviewed at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Agha Rafiq Ahmed, District and Sessions Judge South and District Returning Officer Karachi on Saturday.

Some 255 voters will elect a naib-nazim in the election to be held at 11.30am at the City Council Hall. While 178 union council nazims and councillors, elected on 59 women reserved seats, will cast their vote to elect nine members on the minority and labour seats.

In the meeting, arrangements for the city naib-nazim election were given final shape. Various measures also came under consideration.—APP
