Seven arrested in murder case

KHAIRPUR, Jan 29: The Ahmedpur police have booked seven persons for the murder of Asghar Lohar, son of Noor Mohammad Lohar, here on Tuesday.

The accused were identified as Khadim Lohar, Meeral, Shahan, Sajjan, Muhakem, Waheed and Aijaz Lohar.

It was learnt that the villagers had caught the main accused, Khadim Lohar, and handed him over to the police.

It may be mentioned here that Asghar Lohar, student of matric, was shot dead at Ahmedpur High School, over a matrimonial dispute.

Meanwhile, the Ranipur police raided at Rohri canal bridge and arrested two persons, including a railway police constable, and recovered one maund of cannabis from their possession, here on Monday night.

Both the accused, identified as Allahi Awan and Ahmed, son of Anwar Ali, are residents of Punjab and had brought the cannabis from Sargodha district.
