Wapda off to flying start

ISLAMABAD: Defending champions Wapda launched their National Women’s Basketball Championship campaign in style on Tuesday as they outclassed Islamabad White here at the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Amina Mukhtar and Hijab Fatima helped Wapda register a thumping 81-16 victory scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively on the second day of the eight-team event.

Meanwhile, Army due to a magnificent 16-point show by Ayesha Khan who was well supported by Fajar (12) and Amina (10) eased to a resounding 73-14 victory over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In another match held on Tuesday, Karachi defeated Rawalpindi 15-6 with Hiba Faraz (eight points) playing the lead role in the victory.
