RAWALPINDI: Police arrested former MNA and Awami Raj Party chairman Jamshed Ahmad Dasti from a Rawalpindi hotel shortly after he checked-in on Monday.

Mr Dasti, who was absconder in a case of dishonesty registered with the Mehmood Kot police station Muzaffargarh under section 406 PPC in 2019 was handed over to the Muzaffargarh police on Tuesday.

According to Rawalpindi police, integrated software called ‘hotel eye and travel eye’ helped them arrest the accused as he checked-in in a Faizabad hotel.

The software had been installed in all hotels, bus bays and railway stations.

All the software and apps are interlinked with all police officers and even the inspector general of police Punjab can see the status of any case across Punjab while sitting in his office.

Anti-Vehicle Lifting System AVLS – another software helped the police to recover 381 stolen vehicles which included all types of vehicles, while ‘Criminal Record Management System’ (CRMS) helped the police to preserve the bio data of 5,650 accused which included their fingerprints, photos, CNIC and other ware bouts.
