LAHORE: A man died while another fainted when fire erupted in two places in the city here on Sunday.

The death occurred in a fire incident that took place in a building near the DC Office where a man was found dead.

A police official said the fire spread to a portion of the commercial building and Rescue 1122 workers controlled it after an effort of two hours or so.

During the operation, he said, the firefighters found a man suffocated to death in the building and handed his body over to the police for further investigation.

The police official said the cause of fire could not be ascertained.

Another such incident took place at Liberty Roundabout where the fire erupted in a building which was housing office of a bank.

The rescue teams rushed to the site on being alerted and controlled the fire within an hour, he said, adding that no loss of life or major damage was reported as the Rescue 1122 crew had timely acted.
