MULTAN, December 22: The Academic Group swept annual elections of the Bahauddin Zakariya University Academic Staff Association here on Thursday. There were three panels of the BZU faculty members for 11 ASA positions, including six executive committee slots. The two other panels were in the field under the banners of the Teachers Association and the Moderate Teachers Group.

However, the candidates backed by the Academic Group returned successful on all the ASA slots.

The BZUASA office-bearers for 2006 are: president Abdul Qadoos Sohaib; vice president Shakeel Ahmed; secretary-general Dr Saeed Akhtar; joint secretary Engg Tahir Sultan; and finance secretary Muhammad Rizwan.

The candidates elected to the executive committee are: Nazar Muhammad Ranjha, Farida Yousaf, Dr Kalsoom Farzana, Zubair Ahmad, Dildar Ahmad Khan and Engineer Tahir Hasan.
