KHYBER: Two persons were killed and another was injured in a firing incident in Bara here on Wednesday.

Police officials said unidentified assailants opened fire on a moving car in Bara Qambarkhel Bazaar, critically injuring three persons.

Two of the injured – Munsif Khan and Qazi Khan – later succumbed to injuries in a Peshawar hospital, where they were taken for treatment.

The third person, whose name could not be known, was security guard of Munsif Khan, who survived attempts on his life in recent past. He had also lost one of his legs in a blast a few years ago.

Munsif worked as a journalist after completing education in mid 90s and later affiliated himself with a local extremist group.

Nobody claimed responsibility for the attack.
