MOHMAND: A former peace committee chief suffered minor injuries when assailants opened fire on his house in Inzari Miangan Dawezai area of Pandilai tehsil here on Tuesday night.

Family members of Dr Tahir retaliated to the firing and repulsed the attack.

Bacha Syed, an official of the Counter-Terrorism Department and a brother of the injured, also escaped unhurt in the attack.

The police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

It is to be mentioned here that two brothers of Dr Tahir have been martyred in terrorist attacks.
