SUKKUR: Federal Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that former premier Imran Khan’s arrest is not a solution, it is his prerogative to do politics and hold processions and he should rather be allowed to carry on with whatever he is doing.

The veteran leader of Pakistan Peoples Party told journalists here on Monday that though it was not politics in true sense what Imran was engaged in and everybody knew what he was trying to achieve, still he opposed his arrest.

He said that Imran spared no one, he had even criticised UN secretary-general and many of the country’s friends. In his opinion it was not politics at all, he said.

He said that it was nearly impossible to hold election in prevailing conditions hence the scheduled by-polls had also been postponed.

Shah said that the large scale devastation caused by unrelenting rains and floods in Pakistan were an impact of climate change. Besides Pakistan, many other countries had become victims of climate change which would continue to affect them in future as well, he said, adding since Pakistan had suffered more from climate change the country should be helped to enable it to pull out of this crisis, he said.
