RAWALPINDI: Rain and thundershower in upper and central parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, are expected from Sunday (today).

The Met Office said moist currents were penetrating the upper parts of the country and likely to continue during the next four to five days. A westerly wave is also likely to enter upper parts of the country on Sept 11 (Sunday).

Under the influence of this weather system, rain and thundershower is expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Bajaur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum.

It warned people that the rainfall may trigger landslides in Kashmir, hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Galiyat and Murree.
