SUKKUR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sukkur on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two suspected terrorists linked to banned outfit Baluch Revolution Group (BRG) after raid on their hideout near National Highway in Khairpur district late on Tuesday night.

According to a statement issued by CTD, the personnel of Sukkur CTD in collaboration with an intelligence agency raided a location in Khairpur and detained the suspected terrorists identified as Aziz Domki and Mitha Khan Domki and found a huge quantity of proscribed material such as 15 detonators, 300 kg ball-bearings and nut-bolts in their possession.

The suspects confessed during investigation that they were members of the BRG and had gathered in Khairpur in order to carry out a terrorist mission. They also confessed that they had taken part in several anti-state actions with other associates in the past, said the statement.

“During 2022 local government election, we facilitated Usman Domki who was involved in an explosion near Mauladad Phatak in Jacobabad district,” said the suspects, adding they were also involved in several anti-state actions carried out by another terrorist Hameed Talani who was arrested in Larkana district by CTD this year.

They told the officers that at Samad Mari BRG training camp in Taftan, Afghanistan, they were trained in operating the latest weapons such as heavy machine guns, hand-grenades, and were made expert in the installation of improvised explosive devices.

“We brainwashed youth in different areas of Balochistan and succeeded in sending 8-10 people to Afghanistan for training at BRG camps,” they said.

They said that they had carried out terrorist actions in different areas of Balochistan and Sindh on the direction of BRG commander Manzoor Domki, said the CTD statement.
