RAHIM YAR KHAN, Jan 28: Five armed bandits looted Rs0.96 million in cash from the MCB’s Shahi Road branch here on Monday.

Four armed dacoits entered the bank while their fifth accomplice stood guard at the gate. The intruders held the staff, guard and customers at gunpoint, herded them to the stationery room and locked them. The asked cashier Tahir Mehmood to open the safe from where they scooped Rs9.1million in cash. Later, the outlaws snatched Rs51,000 from three clients — Abdul Rehman (Rs25,000), Noor Ahmed (Rs8,000) and Muhammad Ayub (Rs18,000). They managed to escape with the booty in a car of bank manager Mazhar Alam.
