HYDERABAD, Jan 28: The unemployed youth of Bhit Jabal village namely Tahni, Kot Baroch, Kai and Naing, Dadu district, staged a protest demonstration under the banner of “Bhit Jabal Village Action Committee” outside the Hyderabad Press Club here on Monday.

They were protesting against the Lasmo Oil and Gas Exploration Company, which, according to them, was recruiting outsiders at the cost of the local unemployed youth.

They also accused the Sehwan police of committing excesses against the peaceful protesters.

Talking to newsmen, action committee leader Ghulam Rasool Burfat said that Lasmo had refused to appoint educated youth on various posts and was employing people from outside.

He said if the local youth was not employed by the company, the scope of protest movement could be enlarged throughout the Sindh province.

HARIS: The activists of Sindhi Hari Tehrik (SHT) led by its general secretary Vishnumal and Sindhiani Tehrik president Nazir Qureshi staged a token hunger strike outside the Hyderabad Press Club here on Monday.

They were protesting against the alleged murders attack on the life of Tehrik leaders, Faqir Mohammad Almani and Ms Gori Almani and forcible occupation of their lands by the local landlords and Patharidars in connivance with the police
