HYDERABAD, Jan 28: A symposium on the topic of Healthy Life is Women’s Rights was organized here on Sunday at a hotel.

The annual symposium was organized by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Pakistan, Hyderabad chapter, in collaboration with the department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro.

Professor Jan Mohammad A. Memon, vice chancellor, LUHMS, inaugurated the symposium.

Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the role of the healthy women in the progress of the society and emphasized the need for working towards establishing health care facilities that were accessible and friendly to women.

He commended the efforts of Pakistan Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, LUMHS, for providing the family physicians and junior doctors the opportunity to update their knowledge on regular basis.

The vice chancellor announced that LUMHS would sponsor the training of a young Gynaecologist abroad.

He also announced establishment of a unit of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the LUMHS campus.

Eminent gynaecologists from all over the province participated in the symposium which was attended by a large number of doctors of the city.
