KARACHI: Protest against privatization

KARACHI, Dec 14: A meeting of 11 social, labour and women organizations on Wednesday announced a protest drive against privatization and confirmed their participation in the “Anti-WTO and privatization conference” scheduled at the Karachi Press Club on Dec 22.

The meeting announced a joint struggle against privatization of national organizations and also formed a conference organizing committee. They said thousands of workers of Pakistan Steel, PTCL, Karachi Shipyard, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, KESC and other organizations would attend the moot.

It decided to foil the proposed privatization of Pakistan Steel by offering a tough resistance.—PPI
