National training camp starts today

LAHORE, Dec 13: Twelve men and 10 women have been invited to attend the national swimming training camp which starts at Defence Club pool from Wednesday. The camp is being held to prepare Pakistan team for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne, Australia from April 18 to 26, 2006.

The first phase will conclude on Jan 14 next year and the second begins two days later.

Mansoor Ali Khan and Mrs Sadiqa Afzal have been appointed as camp in-charges. Hafeez Bhatti, Khalid Zaman and Waqar Azeem will jointly run the men’s camp as coaches. Mrs Faiza Shehzad and Mrs Sadia will coach the women.

Players: Men: Abdul Aziz, Umar Pervaiz, Mursil Mahmood Butt, Abdul Samad, Syed Moid Mustafa, Sanaullah Khan, Ruhail Waqar, Farman Israr, Usman Jawaid, Sikander Khan, Atif Khawaja, Imran Hashim.
