The deceased was identified as Raja Mehmood, a resident of Mandla, Bhara Kahu.

The deceased was trying to save four siblings who were trapped in Korang Nullah during the flash floods as they were collecting wood behind LVL Colony. A woman who was watching the scene, called the police who reached the spot. The children were later rescued with the help of navy divers.

Rescue personnel continued their search for the man till sunset on Tuesday but could not find him. However, they were able to trace the body some 3.5km from where he had drowned in Rawal Dam on Wednesday.

The body was retrieved from a depth of 25 feet and later shifted to a hospital for legal process, the police added.
