KARACHI, Dec 13: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has initiated scholarships for life sciences to foster the interests of students in the biological sciences. The disciplines that come under life sciences include physiology, botany, zoology, microbiology, genetics, bio-chemistry, pharmacy and environmental sciences.

A KU official said on Tuesday that the last date for submission of application for HEC’s financial support for the needy students to study in top public/private institutions at graduate level was Dec 19.

He said that students who have obtained or may get admission at the Karachi University in Pharmacy (Pharm-D), (Genetics-MSc) or in Bio-technology (BSc Honours and MSc) were eligible to apply.—APP
