SWABI: Awami National Party central vice-president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said here on Saturday that former prime minister Imran Khan was playing with people’s emotions and using them for his personal political objectives while raising the cry of US conspiracy.

He was addressing a gathering organised to honour a few families who quit different political parties and joined ANP.

Mr Hoti said they knew that Imran would not complete his five-year term because it was very difficult to keep happy his coalition partners and the people who brought him into power.

He said that Imran’s performance was such that his government had become a burden for his coalition partners.

The ANP leader said that Imran started claiming that America had conspired against him while the fact wasthat Balochistan Awami Party, MQM and other coalition supporters were not ready to support him anymore.

“These parties did not really support Imran government, they were in fact forced to back him,” Mr Hoti claimed.

Mr Hoti welcomed the newcomers into his party and lauded their decision. He said if the federal government failed to control prices of essential commodities the ANP leadership would see whether to remain in the coalition or leave it.

He said that the political parties and ministers should adopt austerity.
