A special Father’s Day

This is with reference to the story, “A special Father’s Day,” by Memoona Mukhtar,(YW, June, 18). Father’s Day, is like a festival these days, but it doesn’t mean that we forget the importance of the special man in our lives.

A father is not just the pillar of the house, but he is also the foundation of the whole household.

Both parents, our mum and our dad are equally important, and we should respect and love them always.

These special days are just reminders to keep loving the most important people in our lives.

Swiping away our time

This is with reference to the article, “Swiping away our time” by Aoun Ahmed (YW, June 4).

The writer has a powerful point of view regarding the issue of mobile usage. I have the habit of reading books whenever I’m bored.

Whether the book is related to my studies

or on any other topic, I just want to read something. But whenever I’m sitting around with my cousins and if I take a book to read, I feel like I’m the odd one among them as everyone is busy with their mobile phones — or just like the writer said, swiping away their time.

We should limit the use of mobile phones as they are literally playing with our mental health.

A planting day at school

Thanks to Saleha Rizwan for sharing such a useful and impressive story, “A planting day at school” (YW, June 4) with us.

The story was informative as I came to know that there are many types of sunflowers. Planting sunflowers don’t only bring beauty to our surrounding, but the flower itself is very beneficial in many ways. In a very skilful manner, the writer added information while telling a story, making it interesting for the readers.

A great embarrassment

The story “A great embarrassment” (YW, May, 28) by Ghousia Naz urged us to accept the reality of ourselves, whether it is good or bad. One should not pretend just to get appreciation from people, as the writer said she did by not wearing spectacles.

In our society, everyone is in a race to do better than others, whether in looks or the lifestyle. People who do not accept their reality are always left behind, therefore, we should learn to live in reality and stay content.
