LAHORE: As many as 1,225 students of various disciplines were awarded degrees at the 22nd Convocation 2022 of the University of Management and Technology (UMT).

Punjab Governor Baleeghur Rehman was the chief guest at the convocation ceremony held at the Expo Centre on Friday, where 691 Bachelors, 165 Masters, 341 MS/M.Phil and 29 PhD degrees were conferred on the varsity students.

Furthermore, 18 Patron’s Gold Medals, 17 Rector’s Silver Medals, 06 Rector’s Academic Excellence Awards Gold Medals, 6 certificates of excellence, 6 research publication award were given to the MS/MPhil students on the occasion.

Rector Dr Asif Raza said the UMT was ranked among the top 500 Asian universities and this was only possible because of faculty, dedicated staff, conducive academic and research environment and hardworking students.

UMT/ILM Trust Chairman Ahmad Omer Murad said every effort was being made to transform students into well-rounded individuals and prepare them to face the challenges of life.

He said the grooming and character building of the students was also being carried through a wide range of co-curricular activities.

The governor in his address said the students would be thankful to their parents who invested their time, money and efforts and also their teachers who extended their full support to them for their achievements.
