LAHORE: A man suffered critical burns after he reportedly set himself on fire outside the press club.

A police official said Azhar Hussain set himself on fire outside the LPC where he had been sitting at a protest camp for the last four days.

He told media persons that a man had developed relations with his wife and police ignored his complaint.

The man on Tuesday threw patrol on himself and set himself on fire. Some passersby including journalists alerted police and the Rescue 1122 who took him to a hospital where doctors declared his condition serious.

SHOT DEAD: A woman was shot dead allegedly by her father-in-law over a dispute at Wahdat Colony on Tuesday.

The police official said the woman had a dispute with her husband Amir and was living with her parents. He said a lawyer called both parties at his home to launch reconciliation efforts where woman’s father-in-law Khyzer was also present.

As the woman refused to go with her husband, the police said, Khyzer opened fire and injured her. She was shifted to hospital where she expired.
