SUPPORT: Former federal minister Sheikh Waqas Akram announced on Tuesday supporting Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidates for PP-125 and PP-127 by-elections, Akram Chela and Nawaz Bharwana. Polling will be held on July 17.

He told a press conference at his residence at Jhang that he made the decision on the directions of Sial Sharif shrine’s caretaker Pir Syed Qasim Sialvi and added he had not joined the PTI. He confirmed that PML-N provincial minister Attaullah Tarar visited him during his Jhang visit on Monday and tried to convince him to support PML-N candidates for both seats, but he regretted that due to the local political situation, it was not possible for him to do so.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will address a public meeting at Jhang’s Mai Heer stadium on July 8 regarding the by-election campaign of PTI candidates.
