KARACHI, Dec 12: Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that Karachiites would soon have good news with regard to Karachi Circular Railway and Mass Transit Programme.

He said the City Government is buying 48 mechanical sweepers while dumper loaders worth Rs 600 million will also be procured.

Talking to journalists at his office on Monday, the City Nazim informed that encroachment at Lyari Expressway would be removed this month while the Expressway and Northern Bypass would be completed in 2006.

To a question, he said that a study by Japanese experts for Circular Railway was under completion.

Mustafa Kamal informed that 48 mechanical sweepers would be distributed among towns for better sanitation.

Meanwhile, nazim visited city’s various areas on Sunday/ Monday night, with EDO Works and Services and inspected the development works of under-construction road-8000.

He also inquired about the problems of the dwellers and directed the concerned officials to pay special attention to their solution.—APP
