KARACHI, Dec 12: As many as 11 patients are under treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Civil Hospital Karachi for suspected viral haemorrhagic fever. According to health circles, Sohail, 25, was brought to JPMC from Landhi on Monday. He has a history of prolonged illness and gum bleeding. Another patient, Hidayet Shah, 17, was brought from Mominabad on Sunday.

With the exception of one or two, all patients were admitted to hospitals during the last four days. On Monday six patients were admitted to the isolation ward of Civil Hospital, while five patients were under treatment at JPMC. The patients belong to Landhi, Baldia, Babar Market, New Karachi, Qasba, Mominabad, Gulbahar, Orangi and Khokrapar.
