GUJRANWALA, Dec 11: Heirs of the slain jeweller on Sunday protested against the police for not finding a clue to killers even after a week. Reports said Muhammad Nadeem was on his way to market by his motorcycle along with cash worth Rs1.8 million and 50 tola gold jewellery from Gura Nanikpura. On Sadiq Road, two robbers riding a motorcycle intercepted him, shot him dead on resistance and took away the bag containing cash and ornaments.

The mother and widow of the jeweller have threatened that they would go on hunger strike in front of the Chief Minister’s House, Lahore if the accused were not arrested.

SUICIDE: A jobless youth committed suicide by taking poison in Baghbanpura here on Sunday.

Reports said Muhammad Anwer quarrelled with his parents over pocket money and consumed poison. He died on way to the local DHQ hospital.
