BAJAUR: Two policemen were injured when unidentified assailants attacked a police post with grenades in Bajaur tribal district here on Saturday night.

District police officer Abdul Samad Khan told reporters that unknown miscreants lobbed grenades at a police post located near Khar Bridge in Yousaf Abad area. He said two policemen identified as Ilyas Khan and Shahsawar were wounded in the attack.

He said building of the post was partially damaged, adding the policemen responded to the attack, forcing the miscreants to flee.

Samad Khan said a police party was dispatched to the area soon after the incident to conduct a search operation to arrest the elements involved in the attack.

He said investigation had also been launched into the incident to find out the motive behind the attack.
