THOUSAND OAKS (California), Dec 10: Kiwi Michael Campbell showed some chinks in his armour, but still led the Target World Challenge after Friday’s second round.

After building a five-stroke lead, Campbell struggled to complete the second round at even-par 72 for a nine-under total of 133 in the US$5.5m unofficial event hosted by Tiger Woods.

Campbell, who fired a course record-tying 63 on Thursday, moved to 13-under and five shots ahead of American Kenny Perry and Ulsterman Darren Clarke through 12 holes.

But he dropped four shots - including a double-bogey on 18 - coming in and finished the day leading 2002 winner Padraig Harrington of Ireland and Clarke by three strokes.

Harrington shot a second-round 70 and Clarke a one-over 73.

Woods, the defending champion as well as host, is just 14th in the 16-golfer field following back-to-back rounds of 72.

BANGKOK: Title-holder Jyoti Randhawa and Marcus Both battled into a share of the lead with overnight pacesetter Shiv Kapur in a super-charged third round of the Volvo Masters of Asia on Saturday.
