ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have launched a crackdown against unregistered vehicles.

The ITP issued tickets to 5,615 unregistered vehicles and motorcycles during the ongoing year.

Special enforcement squads have been constituted for checking unregistered vehicles. SSP Traffic Syed Mustafa Tanveer is leading the campaign initiated on the directions of Inspector General of Police Dr Nasir Akbar Khan.

The SSP has asked the residents to get their vehicles registered at the earliest and use only the ETO-issued number plates.

Special enforcement squads have been deployed at different points of the city to monitor unregistered vehicles, he added.
