DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Fisheries Biodiversity Hatchery wing Taunsa Headworks has released a fish stock in the Indus River at the Taunsa barrage.

Assistant Director Manzoor Hussain said that a school of 50,000 fish fries was released into the river. Fishermen also participated in the event. Khadim Hussain Khar, leader of Sindhu Bachao Tarla, said that in order to meet the shortfall of fish production due to water scarcity and pollution in the rivers, the fish species should be maintained and the ecosystem of the rivers should be kept in balance.

He said the struggle to save the fish species in the rivers has been ongoing for many years and now good measures are being taken by the government departments to save the fish species and wildlife.

The river fish are free from adulteration and are a natural blessing, it has become very important for us to save the rivers and fish for our generations, he said.

ACE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested a patwari outside the Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, on Wednesday, after his pre-arrest bail was cancelled.

He is involved in selling land through the forged record.

Patwari Kaleem Kamran Manjutha is facing a case registered on the complaint of Akhtar Pathan that the patwari with the connivance of Muhammad Qasim, Muhammad Umar Jind Vada and Muhammad Hussain sold his land.
