Lawyer shot at by three

SIALKOT, Dec 9: A former joint secretary of the Sialkot District Bar Association was shot at by three armed men in the city’s congested Khokhar Town-Hajipura locality here on Thursday night. Reports said Saeed A. Khokhar was on his way home along with his sister when three armed men made them hostage at gunpoint. They also misbehaved with the woman. When the lawyer resisted, the interceptors opened fire injuring him seriously.

The accused escaped from the scene while firing in the air.

The injured lawyer was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, at a meeting, the District Bar Association expressed concern over the incident and demanded early arrest of the accused.

SHOT DEAD: The nephew of a local PML leader, Zulfiqar Bajwa, was shot dead allegedly by rivals in the Pasrur city on Friday.

Muazzam was going to the Pasrur city when some armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on him killing him on the spot.

Police have registered a case against six nominated accused, including Nasir and Safrish.

The local PML leadership has expressed concern over the incident.

FOUND DEAD: Khadim Husain, 60, was found murdered in his shop in Kolokey village on Friday morning.

Sambrial police have registered a case.

LOOTED: Four dacoits stormed into the snooker club of Imran Akram on College Road and snatched cash and 15 mobile phones from some 24 people present there on Thursday night.

Daska city police have registered a case.
