Youth killed for playing loud music

NAROWAL: An 18-year-old youth was shot dead by a neighbour, while his father was seriously injured on a dispute over playing loud music.

As per police, Usman, 18, son of Sarfraz, a resident of Darman town of Zafarwal tehsil, would play loud music on his sound system in his house.

A neighbour, Nawaz, would object to playing loud music and admonish the young man for this.

According to police, on Wednesday, Usman again played loud music, which enraged Nawaz, who arrived outside Usman’s house with some others and called the youth and his father.

When Usman and his father came out, Nawaz and his accomplices opened fire on them, leaving both of them injured seriously.

The suspects then fled the scene. The injured were being rushed to Zafarwal Tehsil Headquarters Hospital when Usman, succumbed to his injuries.

The father, Sarfraz, was referred to the district headquarters hospital, Narowal, where he was said to be critical.

Leaser Kalan police have registered a first information report against the suspects, including Anwar, Tanveer, Shabbir and a woman Rashida Bibi.

Narowal District Police Officer Rizwan Omar Gondal has ordered immediate arrest of the suspects, while the body was handed over the victim’s family after the postmortem examination and necessary legal action.
