SWABI: Two young brothers and their friend drowned in the Indus River while beating the heat here on Saturday, rescue officials said.

They said the incident occurred in Alladher village of Chota Lahor tehsil.

Relatives of the victims said the victims went to the river to beat the heat after working in fields to harvest the potato crop.

The locals informed the Rescue 1122, which dispatched two teams for finding the bodies.

The volunteers along with Rescue 1122 divers continued struggle to trace the bodies, but to no avail.

The victims were identified as Qasid Khan, 17, Aqash Khan, 20, and Umar Khan, 21.
