KARACHI is once again the target of terrorists. The city has faced three terrorist incidents in as many weeks. It started when a woman suicide bomber killed three Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver.

This was followed by another blast in Saddar area in which a young man died while several others were left injured, and then just days later there was another bomb blast; this time in the busy Kharadar area. The incident left a woman dead and 12 others injured.

Apparently, unrest in Balochistan seems to be the epicentre and the major reason for these sudden terrorist incidents. The government in Balochistan is unstable, and, therefore, it is unable to deal with the matter politically. The government at the centre has been in turmoil since long and presently there is apparently no functional government at all. This confusion has provided the nefarious elements the opportunity to spread terror to other parts of the country.

Our politicians should get their issues sorted out as soon as possible so that the rising wave of terrorism can be tackled politically through properly and professionally coordinated efforts.
