LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested two persons, including a naib tehsildar, on charges of fraud.

According to an ACE spokesperson, it foiled an attempt to grab the state land illegally in Muzaffargarh by suspect Mahmood Ali. The suspect allegedly transferred 124 kanals of land to his name with the connivance of the staff of the revenue department.

“The suspect transferred 100 kanals of government land in Rangpur area of Muzaffargarh to his name in 2014 through a fake registry and also transferred and registered bogus and fictitious registry of 24 kanals of land in his name,’’ he said.

In another case, naib tehsildar Raja Irshad Ahmed was arrested for preparing a fake mutation document. “The suspect in connivance with a patwari prepared a fake mutation document of 3.5 kanals of private land situated in Faisalabad,” the spokesperson said.
