Teachers demand salary payment

Published December 8, 2005

NAWABSHAH, Dec 7: Primary school teachers held a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday, demanding issuance of their posting orders and release of their salaries. The protesters were carrying placards and raising slogans.

The protesters, including Mehboob Ali Khokhar, Noor Ahmad Pathan, Karim Bux Unnar and Manzoor Solangi, said the education department had not issued their posting orders after regularization of their services. They said their salaries had also not been released for six months.

They alleged that salaries and posting orders had been issued to teachers in other districts.

They warned to continue protest if their demands were not met till December 12.—Correspondent
