MIAMI, Dec 7: Shots were fired aboard an American Airlines flight that landed in Miami on Wednesday and was immediately surrounded, according to police. Local news reports said the shots were fired by a US air marshall on the jet.

“We can confirm that shots were fired on that flight,” Miami police spokeswoman Mary Walters said as SWAT teams and other law enforcement officials surrounded the aircraft at the city’s international airport.

Police said they could not confirm news reports that the shots were fired by a federal air marshall.—AFP
