RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping of a man for Rs2 million ransom and then killing him in Pirwadhai area.

Shamsher Ali, a resident of Pirwadhai, went missing after leaving his house on April 4for a business meeting.

Ms Nazia Shamsher, wife of the deceased, after failing to trace him, lodged an FIR with the Pirwadhai police on April 20.

She in the FIR said when her husband did not return, she received a phone call from an unknown number, demanding Rs 2 million ransom for safe release of her husband.

She further said that she arranged the ransom money and delivered it to a location near a filling station. She said that a silver car in which a bearded man was traveling in picked up the cash band and drove away.

She said despite the fact she delivered the ransom money as had been directed by the accused, her husband was not released, instead he was not released.

Police spokesman said on Wednesday, that the police have traced the alleged killers of Shamsher Ali.

He said that the arrests of the accused helped them to recover the body of Shamsher Ali. All the three accused — one of whom was facilitator — have been shifted to Adiala jail for identification.
