DERA MURAD JAMALI: Some unidentified people on Monday blew up a 220kv power pylon in the Notal area of Nasirabad district, partially disrupting supply to the Sibi-Quetta main transmission line.

According to police, some miscreants planted an explosive device near the pylon and blew it up through remote control. Soon after the blast, police and members of law enforcement agencies rushed to the area and started an investigation.

Officials of the Quetta Electricity Supply Company, while confirming the incident, said the power pylon had been partially damaged in the blast and repairs would start after security clearance.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to arrest the elements responsible for the blast.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
