Road accidents, enmities claim 33 lives during Eid holidays in KP

MANSEHRA: Thirty three persons were killed and 95 others received injuries in various incidents in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last two days.

Twelve people, four of them family members, were killed and 14 others sustained critical injuries in different incidents in upper parts of Hazara division on Wednesday and Thursday.

Gishpu Rafique, his son Obaidullah and their two other family members Inayatullah and Inhamullah were killed when a motorcar plunged into a deep ravine in Torkamara Pattan area of Lower Kohistan.

Meanwhile, two motorcyclists identified as Shahzada Ghafoor and Waqas Shabbir were killed when by a speeding car hit them on Karakoram Highway near Datta Mor.

In Sakhi area of Mansehra, the sister-in-law of former councillor Javed Tanoli and his nephew were killed in a road accident. Ten people sustained injuries in the accident.

A woman and her son were killed when their rival attacked their residence in Khihala Lassan Nawab area of Mansehra. Three people were injured in the attack.

In Jatka Syedain area of Torghar, a driver was killed and another person sustained critical injuries when a jeep fell into a ravine.

In Swat, seven persons were killed and about 53 others received injuries in various incidents.

A man identified as Syed Ali was killed in a clash between two groups in Kokarai area. Sanaullah from the rival group was injured in the firing.

A motorcyclist was killed when two motorbikes collided in Bahrain on the second day of Eid. The deceased was identified as Syed Hassan Kamal, a resident of Peshawar. Amjad sustained injuries in the accident.

In another incident, 11-year-old Rehman was killed when a pistol he was playing with went off in Manrai area of Shah Dherai.

Musa Khan and Tariq Khan were killed when their motorcycles collided in Bara Bandai area on the first day of Eid.

A 12-year-old boy drowned in Shahgram stream in Madyan.

A woman died while four other persons were injured when a motorcycle and rickshaw collided in Fatehpur.

Similarly, four staff members of a hotel became unconscious due to gas leakage in Kalam. They were shifted to hospital for treatment.

At least 18 persons were injured after a truck overturned in Qandeel area of Madyan.

In Dera Ismail Khan, four people were killed and four others including two brothers were injured in separate incidents.

Police said that Junaid Gandapur was shot dead in Bakhri Bazaar over a women dispute.

Two men were killed in the name of honour in Darazinda area in separate incidents.

Usman Mahmood was shot dead near district courts over old enmity. Rasool Khan Kakar was injured in the firing.

Baz Mohammad Zastirana was injured when his rivals allegedly opened firing on him inside his house in Kari Shamozai.

Two brothers identified as Adnan Talha and Noman Talha were stabbed by their rivals on Nasirabad Qila road.

In Haripur, two teenage Afghan boys were killed and four persons were injured in different incidents.

Police said that Mohammad Faisal, 16, and Hikmatullah, 17, were killed when their motorcycle collided with a passenger bus on GT Road near district courts on the first day of Eid. Rehmatullah, 19, was injured in the accident.

They said that Rameez, a resident of Dingi village, was injured near Chechian Interchange of Hazara Motorway when his motorcar overturned due to reckless driving.

In Sera-i-Saleh, two persons were injured when rival groups exchanged fire during a funeral prayer.

In Lakki Marwat, an outlaw identified as Liaquat was killed in a shootout with police in Shah Hasankhel area.

In another incident, Hanifur Rehman was killed over a land dispute in Naurang town.

In Abbottabad, two tourists including a man and a woman from Lahore were killed and five others suffered injuries when their vehicle fell in a deep ravine on Thandiyani Road.

The victims were identified as Shahzeb and Samar Bibi. The injured included Sonia, Sajjad, Hina Bibi and Aslam.

In Khyber, Three persons lost their lives and nine others received injuries in separate incidents.

Police said that Sajid and Zubair were killed when a rickshaw skidded off the road and turned turtle.

They said that Saqib Afridi of Malakdinkhel area was killed and his opponent Shaukat Khan was injured when they exchanged fire.

Asif and Shan Gul received injuries when two motorcyclists opened firing on them while they were sitting outside their home in Shalobar area of Bara.

PA woman and a girl were injured owing to firing in the air in Sipah and Bar Qambarkhel localities of Bara.

Mohammad Adil was injured owing to electric shock in Alamgudar while a teenage boy got his hands burnt when firecrackers went off in his hands in Baaz Garha area.

In Shangla, a man was killed and six others were injured when a vehicle of tourists fell in a ravine in Alpuri.
