RAWALPINDI: The twin cities will see rainfall accompanied by strong winds from May 2 which is likely to end the ongoing heat wave.

The Met Office has forecast day-time temperature in several cities to fall by 4 to 6 degrees due to the rains. However, it has also predicted landslides in different areas of Gilgit-Baltistan between May 2 and May 5 whereas dust storms might damage weak structures in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sindh and Balochistan.

According to the Met Office, a westerly wave will enter westerns part of the country from May 1 and will persist till May 5 (Thursday).

Rain, wind and a thunderstorm is expected in Chaghi, Noshki, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Loralai, Mastung, Zhob, Ziarat, Kalat, Sibi, Naseerabad, Barkhan, Larkana, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahimyar Khan from May 1 till May 3.

A dust storm with light rain is expected in Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Gujrat from May 2 till May 4.

Furthermore, rain and a thunderstorm is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Kohat, Kurrum, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Rawalakot, Bagh, Haveli, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, Srinagar, Baramulla, Shupian, Anantnag and Leh from May 1 to May 5.
